Umberto Boccioni: Dynamism of a Cyclist
|
|
2006 200K - Okotoks, Alberta - April 29, 2006
'We were riding beside the mountains which showed themselves on the horizon, then ducked behind hills to hide, then peaked over the hills, and then showed themselves in all their beauty between the hills. I love the mountains!!'

2006 300K - Drumheller, Alberta - May 6, 2006
'Drumheller is known for the dinosaur remains which have been found there, and for the interesting landscape throughout the ravine … almost “Flintstones”-like. I like cycling through that area because it is so different.'

|
2006 400K - Golden Triangle - May 27, 2006
'On Highway 1A, the Bow Valley Parkway, I saw several deer, a large coyote, 3 large male elk standing right next to the road who had to stop eating to watch me go by, and then a female elk a little further on.'

|
2006 600K - Fairmont, BC - June 17/18, 2006
'Just as I began to feel a bit down, I looked up and saw the most unusual rainbow in the sky. It was extremely bright, completely horizontal, quite wide, and rippled much like the aurora borealis does. I've never seen anything like it before!'

|
2006 200K - Red Deer, AB - July 8, 2006
'Bentley, with a population of about 1100 people, is known for the largest recumbent bicycle shop in Alberta! It is a fascinating shop which contains not only recumbents, but also penny farthings and unicycles!'

2006 300K - Red Deer, AB - August 6, 2006
'The scenery was mainly rolling pasture land with lots of cows but also a herd of buffalo and a couple herds of elk. Ranching, more so than crop farming, is popular around here.'

2006 UMCA 24-hour - September 2, 2006
'Have you ever done a ride where you felt completely and totally elated and energized ... where you felt strong ... where you felt like you could ride harder and faster than ever before?'
|
|
Pine Lake Tour - September 23-24, 2006
'It was lonely out there, but a beautiful, clear night with no moon and no wind ... and we were treated to one of nature's greatest shows ... the onset of the aurora borealis. The night sky entertainment also had other spectators. A family of coyotes set off their wails and howls, sounding as though they were right next to us alongside the highway.'
