2008 200K - Red Deer, Alberta - May 3, 2008
'I was standing outside drinking my Orange Crush, when a man walked up, pointed at Machak, and said, "Nice bicycle ...
Marinoni". I smiled and said, "Yes" ... a bit surprised that someone out in the middle of nowhere would know the Marinoni
brand. Then he told me something else which surprised me even more ... he said he knew Giuseppe Marinoni
(the man who started Marinoni Cycles) quite well, because that he grew up in the town where Marinonis are built!!
Who would have thought!!'

2008 300K - Red Deer, Alberta - May 10, 2008
'I like the new portion of the route which I incorporated this year. The old route took riders onto a fairly main highway with
little to no shoulder, and last year when we rode it, part of the lane was breaking off and falling away, making it very narrow.
With the high traffic, it also made it rather frightening. This year I send riders (well, me) onto a side road which has very
little traffic, more trees, and more scenery. There is a bit more climbing on the side road, but I think that's better than
taking our lives into our hands.'
