Lake MacDonald to Caloundra - Up bright and early (4:50 am) to quietly slip out of the kid's playground area and hit the road.
We decided to take a break from the Bruce Highway and head for Noosa Heads.
Just south of Noosa Heads we stopped at Sunshine Beach and spent a few hours playing on the beach.
I splashed in the waves and tried to build sandcastles while Rob swam, then rented a surf board - his first attempt at that.
He nearly drowned himself out there and after a while rented a boogie board to try that.
He nearly drowned at that too. We both got rather burned out there.
It is easy to forget the time and the sunblocks don't last forever.
My face is a tomato right now!!

From there we cycled down to Caloundra and after an unpleasant encounter with some managers of a caravan park who wanted to charge us an arm and a leg for a patch of grass, we stopped at an extremely clean backpackers around the corner for not much more ... the usual price we'd expect to pay.
