Rumor has it that the route we are following is the Giro Tasmania 1000K route. Rob was quite pleased when he heard that. I think that I would need A LOT more hill practice before I ever attempted that 1000K!!! It would be a tough one!

After Queenstown the bus travelled to Lake St. Clair where we were allowed to roam about for half an hour so I took a look at the lake and in the visitor's center. Then we continued on through to Hamilton. Hamilton is a small town full of old buildings which many people are trying to restore and turn into Bed and Breakfast units. When I arrived, Rob was already there and had made arrangements with one of the people in the town, Paul, to stay at his place. Hamilton

Paul lived in an 1820s inn which he was in the process of restoring. It was in a bit of a state of disarray but the restored bits looked really good. We spent an enjoyable evening listening to his music and chatting with him.
