We cycled to Hobart. Fortunately the route wasn't too hilly and I was able to keep a reasonable pace all the way along. Also fortunately the weather was good - in fact, I would venture to say it was almost hot! I could hardly believe it!!
We stopped in New Norfolk for lunch and were served almost more than we could eat at the restaurant. Then we continued on along the east side of the Derwent River toward Hobart, and more specifically, toward Bellerive.
Rowan had given us a detailed cue sheet of how to get to his place which I referred to many times along the way to get there ... but we made it! I must say though that this area is VERY hilly. Sort of like the Vancouver area where they have built everything on the sides of the mountains, and the roads go straight up! I did more walking in the last 10 kms than I had all day!!
After we got settled, we took a walk along the beach and had a look around. There's a good view of Hobart and Mt. Wellington from this side.
Being able to stop in indoor accommodations had been greatly appreciated, especially when the storm blew through last night.
