Cycled into Cairns, booked into a backpackers, and then spent the rest of the day gathering tourist information, maps, etc. and walking around the town. It has not been overly warm here. It's comfortable, but there has been a cool wind and it has been raining periodically throughout the day. We've been told it isn't the monsoon rain, rather it is like a winter rain.
