After some advice from the campsite operator, we took a bicycle path from there, through Wollongong, Port Kembia, and down to Shell Harbour.
That had pretty parts, but didn't do much for making time - it took us nearly 4 hours to cover about 44 kms.
I don't know why, but years ago I wanted to see Wollongong ... but it is all very industrial.

After Shell Harbour we turned inland and started up a quiet mountain road - Jamberoo Mountain Road.
Just as we entered the road there was a sign indicating that it was not suitable for truck or camper traffic.
If I ever see that sign again, I'll know it is also not suitable for loaded bicycle touring!!
At first it was beautiful - very pastoral and a lot like Wales.
Then we reached a sign indicating that there was 6 kms of windy road.
And it was a windy road, straight up.
We ended up doing 700 meters in 7 kms.
I walked. Rob rode. It took us about 1.5 hours.

From there we continued on to Moss Vale, where we stayed in a campground.
When we got in, we were informed about a meal at a nearby club and headed off there.
Very good! And I needed the food after all that work ... and 110 kms.
